Mostafa Ghobadi, a former South Tyneside College Marine Students has sent a heart warming e mail to the college expressing fond memories from his time in South Tyneside. Mostafa, aged 52 from Iran studied at South Tyneside College from 1977 – 1981 in a special group of Deck Cadets where he was awarded his Class 3 and 4 and his HND. He returned to South Tyneside College in 1984 to continue his education achieving his Class 2 Deck qualification.
Reflecting on his time spent in South Shields, he comments:
“I feel proud to see in your website that the college has advanced and expanded significantly and the good old South Shields is even more beautiful and attractive than in the late 1970’s.
“When I come to think of it now; it was the best time of my life. In the North East the people are friendly and humorous. I have fond memories of my time there including the cosy pubs, town centre shops, King Street, Marsden Grotto and college friends of many nationalities.”
The enquiry was unexpectedly received last week through the South Tyneside College Website. The people of South Shields should be proud that they made Mostafa’s time in South Shields one of the most enjoyable and memorable times of his life.
